When I used granulex in the past, it was applied only to flesh that needed to be removed. It eats both good and bad flesh so you have to be very careful with appication.

It is so easy to contaminate that most doctors don't even bother ordering it. I watched a nurse open a tube, set the top down wrong side up, then put the regranex on a non-sterile glove and proceed to waste a weeks worth before knocking the cap on the floor and declaring the five second rule. And this woman taught nursing. Needless to say, the wound became badly infected by the next day. They make regranex, but do you think you can prove that it will be used without contaminating it. (Insurance companies control what we get these days and they insist you can't use it so it isn't on my formulary anymore, either.)I can't, and I like my aids, but they do not understand sterile technique. I feel bad for you guys and gals with indwelling caths because that's another contributing factor to your UTI'S.I sure wish you the best with the spray stuff. I immediatly called the pharmacy & asked about the tube of gel that I once had & they told me to hold on then came back to say they no longer make the gel, is this true?
