When you come right down to it, there can't be a planet X because pluto was downgraded to a planetoid. So, planet-X becomes planet-IX since the X always stood for ten. Any planet that only visits our solar system every 3630 years could not be classified as a planet. I'm sure there could be a big rock or even gas ball that could rearrange our solar system. We rally have a difficult time looking into the Ort Cloud where most of our comets come sneaking out of. Sure feel stupid spending a lot of time thinking we can clean up the water and the air and provide space for wild animals and suddenly a rock the size of Jupitor slips by close enough to cause the Earth to shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

YES astronomy and space is very interesting and amazing, a few weeks ago my family went to out st. louis science center where they have a planetarium show that teaches about the stars and galaxy's with a lazar pointer --- it was very cool, also they said our milky way is just one tiny spec of space that has ( what is believed to be---over a hundred million or so more galaxies as big as our own ) sure opens up ones mind and is very amazing ! Especially my husband. He bought a couple of night lasers so that we can go out at night and he can point at the individual stars and constellations using the laser as it is too difficult to try to see what someone is talking about by pointing their finger in the dark. For what we do not know... about a year and a half ago my husband purchased a GPS system for the nighttime skies. Looking through it will tell you exactly what you're looking at! And absolutely everything about it whether it be a star or a constellation or a planet. Too kewl! And if you want a really cool software program when it is too cold to be outside at night -- purchase "Starry Night." You can set it to be "live" anywhere in the world and it is practically like being there. And it has so many, many, many cool features. Like, because we live near big mountains, it will also show them. http://www.starrynightstore.com/stniso.html It really is like having your own digital observatory. By the way, we have an enormous observatory here in Tucson and another smaller one close to us upon the mountain. Anyway, after you get to the first page click on the big picture on the front page and it will take you to another page with several things to click on to see larger and exactly what it does. Well, a little bit of what it does anyway! RANT (prepare yourself--LOL) : I see that the media, ANY MEDIA ("shock jocks") is/has been having a heyday with this "Planet X" that was observed in the 1980s. These types of doomsayers make me ill. And people will actually believe them. No one knows what "Planet X" is going to do in space or have anything to do with our "special little planet" any more so than any other star or planet or constellation or galaxy. They just "get off" by using scare tactics when they do not know jack sh*t. A couple months ago my home health aide and I were both remembering the "scare tactic" or "urban legend" (or call it what you like) that began in the early 70s saying that California was going to drop into the ocean. First of all people, think outside the box for a couple seconds. What exactly is "California" anyway? It is a state that MANKIND found and created its boundaries. It is land. Notice they never tell you that California is only land or why or when ITS SPECIFIC BOUNDARIES would fall into the ocean. 30 miles of it, 100 miles of it, etc? And why would they choose or predict California being so special over Florida or any other coastal state? Duh! And, the bottom line, is who really cares! What is going to happen is going to happen. It always has and always will. People who talk about "global warming" don't think outside the box or recognize that cow farts release millionsof the same toxic gases that they are talking about to lead to this "global warming." So are we supposed to cork up all the cow's butts in the world? LOL. Seriously though. Al Gore got laughed out of the University of Arizona here when he was going around preaching about this global warming. Planet X is just another planet out there (and nothing more) that mankind has not spoken enough of yet but you'll hear from the doomsayers first! If you want to worry about something worry about all the space junk (natural space junk like asteroids, comets, and lots of other BIG rocks flying around) that could, at any time, smash into Earth to the sun or the moon and take out a few thousand people. Actually, the moon is a great example of getting hit so much with space junk because it is so much older. Thus, all of its craters. Love to learn all you can -- learn to stay away from the shock jocks! I HAVE NOT BEEN THERE IN AGES, AND WILL TRY TO LOOK IT UP ON MY NEW COMPUTER, I HAVE NO BOOKMARKS OR FAVORITES YET BECAUSE I'M GETTING USED TO THIS NEW SYSTEM AND VISTA WINDOWS STILL. I'M NOT SURE IF THE INFO ON THIS PLANET IS TRUE OR NOT BUT THE LITTLE I HAVE READ SO FAR IS INTERESTING, SAYING HOW IT WILL CAUSE TIDAL WAVES--EATHQUAKES AND STORMS AND SO ON AS IT NEARS PLANET EARTH, THAT WILL INCREASE AS IT GETS CLOSER TO US.
