In the mid-90's I opened an outpatient rehab center here in Atlanta for
SCI.  We had the FES bikes and Stimulators as well as alot of other
specialized equipment.  I enjoyed being able to ride for miles and get a
good workout.  At the time, Shepherd Center offered no extensive outpatient
rehab and would not refer patients to us because they didn't believe in the
FES.  Not sure why though, in 6 months it had me off my ass and in a
walker.  We closed the center after a few years of battling insurance
companies.  I would basically let anyone come to rehab whether they could
pay or not.  Not a great business model I know...lol
