I did a clean install on my computer and Vista's been working fine for me.

My brother's XP notebook screen died so he got new notebook with Vista and put the old hard drive in a usb external enclosure. He was having that same "doesn't have permission" problem. To change access permission on folders do this: In Windows Explorer, right-click on the folder, select properties, click security tab, click advanced, click edit, select your user name, click edit, select full control.
