Not boring at all Tod. Very informative! And here we are both in Tucson (although maybe 40-45 min away...dunno) and haven't met yet! Remember Joe Chrisiani's stores? He musta went out of business from competition with the big boys. ???
You must have more movement than Dan and me. I need one that can be used by ONLY ONE "Quad Paw." Like I mentioned earlier - we tried finding a cell I could use in 2001-2002 when we moved here but THEN the technology wasn't perfected enough. So the Motorola RAZR with earpiece that acts as both a mic and a reciever is what we FINALLY got a yr ago. *SERVICE*: Started out with AT&T but their service area was POOR. They fed us a line every month that they were putting up more towers. After 6 months we saw they were not doing as promised so we went to Altell for the same phone. Works great everywhere! The rep there said AT&T HERE has been making those excuses to people for 2 yrs! Many were switching to Altell here cuz of that. We don't chat much so chose the cheapest plan. 8-9 hours A MONTH. For BOTH PHONES COMBINED. (Hubby's and mine). But free weekend minutes so THAT is when we 'chat.' Use the weekday hours for business calls and quick calls. We get abt 500 WEKEDAY minutes and still only use (both combined) only abt 200 and that is a "busier" billing period. So enough room for more chat. Free daily minutes before 7AM and after 9PM but we never use the phones then. *CAMERA FEATURE:* ** I can't use the camera feature (limited movement) and hubby rarely uses that. We just want a cell phone not all the bells & whistles they come with ANYWAY. We have 3 great digi-cameras as hubby is into advanced photography. Nature, sunsets, etc, etc. Olympus for that but it's big & bulky with many lens'. Our 'together gift' this yr was a smaller sized one thay hubby is just now learning. A Canon that he can fit in his shirt pockets to just whip out when needed (on hand). It's not TINY but abt the size of a deck of cards. And we have our 1st dig-cam from 12 yrs ago (nice Kodak with several lens) which still works fine. We just "moved up" with pixels, etc by getting the Olympus for advanced photography and now a lil guy to have on hand and it's cool! Dan - go to your local At&T or Altell store and get a Motorola RAZR and get the earpiece there or at Costco, etc. The earrpiece I got at Altell fizzled out in September. Folks couldn't hear me -- like I was far away or at th bottom of a well even if I talked as loud as I could. So hubby got me another at Costco. $70.00. Works fine. I also have a separate mic I can put on my thumb (for example) overnight when I sleep on the ear that I can reach with my ONE usable arm/fist. The ear I wear it on daytimes. It'd be a speakerphone but have it for say an emergency or something. We got rid of our home phone/landline. Tooooo many fees, taxes, subcharges that are a joke. Need a cellphone so, right now, why pay for both? We don't get telemarketer calls, etc either. :-) Good luck!
