Tim & Greg, You're right... a CBC won't show any indication of either. I have pretty bad bone loss and have been on Fosamax for a few years. We're considering Reclast, the once-a-year injection/IV. I also had to have my Vitamin D monitored because it didn't matter how much Fosamax and/or calcium supplements I got, calcium won't build bone without Vitamin D (from sunshine or 400mg tablets).
Greg... I had a question about the testosterone. Is that also related to bone loss or just energy? I too have been tired quite a bit; and have had just been about every other test done but those. A CBC (complete blood count) probably wouldn't show any signs of deficiency's in those areas, would they? I just got my results back from mine and both were very low. Not sure of the difference in bone scans, but I was sent for a “Dexa” Bone Scan. Test came back and my bone loss was pretty high. So he then sent me for a testosterone test and it came back as basically nil. So now I have to take a weekly thing for bones and a daily gel rube for testosterone. Maybe that’s why I’m so tired lately. G.
