I had HO about 10 years ago and they treated me for one year and then ceased
treatment.  They did multiple bone scans over a two-year period and when I
inquired about the possibility of this recurring a year or two ago, they
told me that once it is treated in usually lies dormant.  I guess it shows
you that you get quite a few different opinions.

I would have to say you're pretty lucky.  I take three different medications
for spasms, calcium for osteopenia (BTW, I had a bone density scan done last
year and it showed my density had increased) Ditropan for bladder spasms, an
antacid and I consider myself lucky that I don't have to take medication for
pain.  I have nerve damage in my neck, but it's not to the point where I
need to take narcotics.  I'll keep my fingers crossed though.
