This is as if I wrote it. My diagnosis is that long term morphine use has
slowed my stomach activity causing terrible stomach pain. Worst is within
an hour after lying down at night. I can be fine in the chair until I lie
down or drink while lying down. Anything except morphine & water! I know
that in approximately ½ hour after going to bed that my bladder is most
active, the first 4 hours is HORRABLE PAIN. Pain might travel but is mostly
in upper abdomen. Last month I went to hospital via 911 for dehydration an
awful burping when pain was present. I searched in Google “morphine,
stomach, and pain”. Might be something to this but I think something is
going on.

Subject: [QUAD-L] IBS & Gastritis

Question??? Does anyone here have IBS or Gastritis? I was diagnosed with
both because have had serious adominal pain the last 3 months. The GI doc
went in and said stomach was doing fine, and of course said there was
nothing wrong with stomach. But did say I had IBS & Gastritis and that I
would just kind of learn to deal with stomach pain that comes along with it.
Of course he put me on a new med which seems to help. I just can't imagine
that my stomach is going to hurt like this from now on. I just want to know
if anyone has this and if this pain is forever. Sometimes I think these
doc's just pawn the problem on another doc. Cause right away he said for me
to go to pain mgmt doc. As if i want to be on darn pain meds that too me
doesn't solve every problem.
