I'm meeting with a Permobil rep. this Friday. I'm curious about that switch
you use Joan. Is it an actual switch or is it built into the electronics.
I mean do you use your chin control to switch modes or is it an actual
switch? Is it like a little click switch mounted on the bib?
I've used the same mouthstick forever. I sent the link below. The sites
pictures are dated. I don't use that docking system though. I dock it by using
a little piece of Velcro and I lay it across my chin control arm. I also
use a lap tray. I put all my TV,DVD, and stereo remote controls on my tray.
If I'm in the house I'll have my mouthstick for the controls and I'll roll
under my computer desk and type away on my computer. I'm a pretty good one
key pecker. lol
The mouthstck also has a pen under the tip. That's been handy when I need
to sign stuff. I've learned that extra tubing from my urine bags can be
used to replace the mouth part of it. The stick is lightweight. The only flaw
is the eraser tips get worn out typing on the computer. The tips are easy
to change but you might need to buy some eraser tips in the future.
