becoming bitter is something we all deal with. I personally feel normal people think we are bitter when we vocalize our hatred of somne of these crappy beds that medicaid calls a hospital bed. 20 years after ADA was approved and how many of us really got much more than a good parking spot. The whole point to waiver was to push the red tape aside and get you help. Now, theres a waiting list. What does "WAIVER" mean to you? In theory someone should make the deternmination that you meet the criteria to have the CMS redtape waived and services begin immediately. The redtape is to be handled later since you are obviously in need of assistance. like every other medical program, It is now top heavy with lawyers and politicians that get googobs of money from the program for slowing it to a crawl. You will find year old paperwork in lost files laying about their offices while they are at the golf course or on sick leave since they already used up their 5 months of vacation. I have never seen a government program that was overloaded and straining at the working level where you didn't find an incompetant boob at the top. Virtually every gov't funded program for the handicapped is headed up by someone that is undereducated, overpaid and completely insensative to our needs. I have had to have an ambulance pick me up because I waited so long for an access ride I becamne hypothermic. Instead of an appology I got a "demoted priority for not being at the curb when the van showed up 3 hours late.
So maybe your a little bitter. Get some stale bread and dark sunglesses and go out and try to kill pidgeons with it. Try begging. The cool people just need to know the system doesn't work. Get out and show them. Best Wishes, john PS. Bitter....pffffffffft, my ass. How about pissed? ________________________________ From: Dan <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 2:37:18 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] patrick? ?????
