Electric wheelchairs are complicated. The more bells and whistles, the
more complicated. Complicated chairs have some base equipment and added
components that must act in harmony with the base chair. The joystick &
controllers are made by an outside vendor. The tilt and recline systems are
made
by outside vendors. The batteries and tires are made by outside vendors.
When a problem occurs, it can only be resolved with a call to your service
provider. If its a programing or computer/systems error, a factory
programmer is needed to decipher and correct those kinds of errors.
Mechanical
errors may require new parts and components. Simple chairs are much easier
to service and repair, but they can't do all the special things of the
fancier chairs. Know what you have and take the extra time to learn as much
as
you can. Also have a good service and response team.

Best Wishes

I have a new TDX SP and Your old chair would be an upgrade. lol i was
going through a parking lot last week and suddenly my chair stops and tips up
a
bit. My aid freaks and says don't move. He lifts the chair and drags the
left chair leg, attached to my foot out from under it. Luckily my oversized
footplate caught the weight of the chair. The leg was destroyed on the
chair. At the shop they have four other legs off TDX 3's and SP's, all same
thing. All are considered operator error, including mine!
I won't stop there. There chair rolls to a stop when i let off the
joystick! I'm use to it stopping, silly me. I am having all these stupid
control
problems. Seriously, i do not recommend this chair and I plan on contacting
the state attorney general if I don't start getting some answers from the
folks at invacare.

Subject: [QUAD-L] got a chair someone can use

Guys,
I have a perfectly usable Permobil Chairman II with all the options (tilt
in space, lay back, seat riser, etc.) It's got an 18" seatpan.
I used the chair for 2 years b4 going to a 2S model. It's been sitting in
my garage as a backup and was only used three times while my 2s was being
serviced. I'm in another new chair (C500 with RS seat) and I can't use 3
chairs.

It only needs batteries, rubber and 2 minor pieces to get road worthy. I'm
in NJ and I'm looking for an individual who needs it as a primary, or an
upgrade to what their in now. The chair was $25K new. I'm not looking for
anything back.
Just want to see it goes to someone who really needs it.

Please reply to me only....I don't want to clog the list

Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do!
