Greetings Daniel, I read your original email regarding your bowels and forwarded a copy to the Executive Director of the Chicago Chapter of the Natl Spinal Cord Injury Association, for her review and suggestions. Offering suggestions and advice to anyone can be dangerous and very risky. We don't know your medical history, your doctor's orders or how well your body will react to our suggestions. We also don't know your access to medicine and pharmacy. Spinal Cord Injuries affect people differently, but some of those effects are common and with your presentation, besides medicine... there is digital stimulation of the bowel by a trained nurse or aide. Here we have enema, a manual method using soapy warm water and hose to assist the passing of stool. You and your doctor will have to establish a baseline daily procedure that is custom TO YOU.
