Hi Dan, I was told you have to do the following steps:
1. Make an appointment with your doctor specifically for the one and only reason -- to prescribe a new wheelchair.
2. Have a wheelchair evaluation by a certified wheelchair evaluation specialist. This is usually an OT or PT.
3. This information is sent to your DME. 4. Your DME then sends the appropriate documentation to your insurance. 5. Then you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more. Good luck, Dan At 03:56 PM 1/18/2010, Danny Hearn said something that elicited my response:

So since i'm new to medicare part B and how to get a chair can Anyone tell me the steps I must go thru.. my chair is over Nine years old and I have always used only private insurance before now. I think 1st my family doctor must write up something correct??
