[QUAD-L] Pain Management

My Pain Management doc got busted doing some illegal stuff, so they closed him down. But I've spent over a month trying to find a new Pain doc. They will take me to do procedures on, but not just long term care, medication help. As soon as I say I'm a quad who's done all the tests, they say no way. Even when I go to them, do many tests, once they are reviewed I get dropped as a patient.   My primary care doc said no also. They are scared of loosing their licence prescribing Oxy or MS-contin. Scared of the DEA and of getting sued for causing addiction. I've called just about all pain docs within an hour drive. I found 1 close one, but they do not take my insurance. So I might have to pay $120 a month out of pocket.   Anyone use a strong pain med that is not a narcotic that a regular doc is willing to prescribe. Though I'd probably have major withdrawals stopping now. I'd have to do it slowly.   Greg
