I have decided not to even ask to try it. Had MS for 50 years now & have the kind that doesn't get better anyway.
Can you still get a script for 4-AP? It is double the strength of Ampyra. My insurer (CVS Caremark) has denied my doctors appeal for the drug by stating it only has FDA approval for MS patients. I previously trialed with the drug in 2003 with great success. My spasticity was lowered, I gained movement in my thumbs and strength to my abdominal muscles. There was also a lowering of pain in my shoulders and back. I intend to appeal the denial on a humanitarian basis and it would help if I could find another insurer who has approved the drug. Thanks. Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
