I am a C4 complete, spent a couple of months on the vent and had to work
very hard to get a decent speaking voice. Blew out a lot of candles to
increase my lung capacity J. It was at least six months before I could
project my voice to any extent. For me one of the tricks was learning to
sit upright rather than reclining is so much in my chair. I still do very
much better sitting in my chair than that I do reclining in bed. As others
have said it is a very individual learning pattern. I have a friend who is
a C4 and has much more movement than I. Good luck Joan
