I've had an Supra for 10+ years and used a Foley in the pecker for about as long.
I can't recall ever getting it plugged up / clogged. I've gotten it twisted or kinked a few times. I was told plugging the cath up to let your bladder fill up, then letting it drain, was good for cleaning out the bladder.
