Dana,
Actually I got up today for 5 hours. The wound is 99.9% closed and my wound
care Doctor said I don't need to see him any more and that I can start getting
up VERY SLOWLY, like in 3 days up 1
  I'm C 5,6,7 from a dirt bike accident on a 250 Kawasaki. I was learning how
to do jumps on the bike, did a jump wrong and landed head on into a very large
mound of dirt at about 30mph. All I did was break my neck, I did not have one
scratch on me. After I landed I was on my side and my boyfriend who was
teaching me ran over to me and said “Are you alright" as he turned me on to my
back. I replied “No, I broke my neck. I need a blanket because I am in shock
and I also need you to call an ambulance."
The police arrived first and because there was dirt everywhere, when the
rookie cop stopped his prowler very quickly, he created a very large plum of
dust & dirt everywhere. Then he proceeded to run around me hysterically yelling
“What do I do OMG what do I do" I got his attention and told him “Your going to
need to calm down" and he did because the ambulance showed up. A man knelt down
above my head placing his hands on either side if my head a said “I'm going to
have to take off this helmet" I was concerned and said“Please be careful
because if you move my head to wrong way, you"ll kill me" He assured me he
would be careful.
They used a scissor stretcher to scoop me up and loaded me into the
ambulance. Before we took off I noticed how everybody was staring at me with
such gloomy faces, I needed to break the ice “Hi, my name is Bobbie , what's
yours"? I said with a big smile on my face.
Anyway I was 17 and that was 36 yeas ago, an eternity.
Dose anybody else want to share their “Story"?
Bobbie
