For most of 23 years I have done the bowel program every other day using a Dulcolax suppository. A few years ago, at the suggestion (insistence!) of my urologist, I tried it every day for about a month and although it worked out well for me (I actually felt better) it was difficult for my caregiver (mom) so we went back to every other day.
Lately, like in the last two months, the routine has taken longer. From the time I get the suppository, with frequent digital stimulation, it is close to two hours before I'm finished, and this has become a problem. If it continues to take this long, I will hope to find some other way of doing it.
