I am finished with Invacare because that's what I've had the last 17 years!
Main vendor recommended bounder and something very interesting it will be chain
driven and not by belt driven! No they won't allow me 11 miles an hour model
and not the off-road version either it is too wide.

with my Invacare Ranger X I just spent 16 days in bed because I burned up both
motors because the main controller did not release the brake! They also had to
replace that controller and then Invacare technician couldn't tell the local
shop how to program my chair like it was previously set up is by a 20 year
veteran?? After my local shop returned to my house again to figure this thing
out and get a different technician on the phone that knew exactly where there
was a hidden setting thank you Invacare for your inconsistency. While I had so
much time on my hands I wrote a nice little letter to the CEO of Invacare with
no results yet. I'm tired of missing out on things I had planned and never
knowing when it may break down again! I use a sip and puff controller for my
chair. Now speaking of stupid clicking noises, the new chair will have the
option to turn the noise off. Good luck with your new chair and best
wishes.from Monty of Indiana C3/C4 complete

Subject: [QUAD-L] LOUD Joystick sound

I am thinking of going with the Invacare FDX as my next chair. Have tried the
demo out twice. It's either that or another Permobil.

What's really annoying is that when engaging or releasing the joystick on the
Invacare FDX joystickit is LOUD which indicates a good deal of play in the
gears of the gearbox. This is further observed by the jerkiness of the
response of the joystick to the actual chair movement.. This can't be good for
the gearbox and leads to breakdown much more frequently.

I know someone here mentioned their LOUD joystick on their chair (forget the
person and chair they have). It's loud enough to be a real annoyance. Anyone
know if Invacare can adjust that?

Also... when switching speeds (from 1-4) it makes 3 LOUD beeps every time.
That is annoying alone let alne in public with people maybe wondering who's
beeping at them or something. Is this adjustable too? Any of you have that
exerience as well?

Permobils, Quantums, etc don't dramatically announce to the world when you're
moving or switching speeds so.....????
