Mine takes about three hours in all, but about one hour of that is trying to remove all the mucus I have coming down. Additionally, my brother doesn't like to check too often, because it causes severe rectal pain and sometimes bleeding.
Are you drinking a lot of fluids. This can help with constipation. I have also found simple mineral oil to be wonderful in my bowel program. Just make sure you don't aspirate the oil. That's the old school way of doing it. Least that's what I'm told.
