Hi again GH, I had shingles near my eye last year. It was caught very early, thanks to an observent PA, so I was able to take the med that shortens the duration and severity. I was sent to my eye doctor immediately since it can cause blindness - that part was scary. It lasted quite awhile and was bothersome, but not excruciatingly painful thanks to the early intervention. There is a vaccine, but here in NY you have to be 60> to get it. If you have shingles, hang in there. Sending good thoughts your way.
