Ive had a syrinx since 04. im a c7 quad 14 years post. i havent had surgery and have had no function loss although the pain from it isnt fun.I researched, read and talked to anyone that knew anything about it and you are at the right place. Craig hospital has done over 1000 surgeries involving a syrinx and they normally dont use a shunt valve which is great.. Ron c7
