My doc first wanted to stay away from a wound center. He says a lot of then
want to cut first... I finely had to go, but found a good one. I go in every
3rd week, Make sure it’s clean, scrape out any dead stuff, when the healing
slows down we change the treatment (the type of packing stuff). We are trying a
new thing for me, wiping it with a silver nitrate stick.
He also cuts some skin away so it does not grow/heal down into the wound or
heal over before it fills in.

I went to a pain management center and they wanted to do surgery when
medication was working just fine. I kept telling them that I didn't want a
surgery and asked why they wouldn't give me a script. I even said that they
could monitor my blood or hair to see if I was abusing my pain meds. They
refused so I left. Later, my husband said it was probably because doctors get
more money for surgeries than an office visit for a script. I went back to my
doctor of physical medicine and asked if he would prescribe the pain meds on a
continuous basis. He agreed.

I'm on methadone that I take for pain as needed. I get a 30 days supply that I
am able to stretch out from 6 months to a year.

Subject: [QUAD-L] medical question

      Hi Y'all,
Okay broke my neck back in July 99 had my c5 bone replaced with a bit of
hip bone. Just went to a Pain Management Dr. that found my L1 & 2 are going bad
from sitting since our bodies r not made to sit for as long as we do. They
found arthritis in both spots too. (bones are breaking down) so the phantom
pain (pins n needles) are getting in tolerable (sometimes). So the Dr. has
tried me on neourtin but didnt really help then tried cybalta but it helped but
side effects werent worth it now he tried me on lyrica but omg it makes me
neauseous, dizzy n makes me pass out. He told me if the lyrica doesnt work
their gonna go into my back DONT want that.
      Now to question:
Have any of y'all tried anything that I havent or your Dr has tried on
you that I can suggest to my Dr?
I tolerate quit abit of pain but it can be intolerable sometimes. Just
thought I could see if any of y'all might know of anything.
      Thank y'all,
