Additionally you should keep your heels and ankles elevated with either heel
lifts or pillows under your ankles... I'm surprised it's on your ankle and
not your heel.

While its healing try to either keep all pressure off it or rotate pressure
elsewhere by turning.

It's easier to prevent skin breakdown than it is for it to heal, you should
try to make it a routine to check for early signs of pressure sores or if
you're like me a c2 quad have a caregiver or family member check daily. My
cargivers do it while I do my range of motion exercises.

Keep all pressure off of it at night. Put little pads where it won't be on
bed.

Hi Paul,
I had one last year and kept it elevated during sleep. Irrigated it with
saline between showers. I used Bacitracin one day and Dermawound the next. I
also keep it elevated since at night as a precaution.

I just had a small pressure sore open up on my right ankle.I would like to
ask you all which is your first line of defense when this happens?

Thank you!
