I played quad rugby years ago when it was still called 'murderball,' and when we all basically played in our everyday wheelchairs. A lot has changed since then! It's a great sport, but it's really not for most true quads. The stars of quad rugby are mostly paras who have a 'bad finger' or two--technically they have impairment in upper limbs, but they function as paras. C5-6 quads are on the floor, usually as blockers, while the faster guys are the ball handlers. There are very few players with injuries higher than c5-6 in the sport. If you're a fan of USA quad rugby you can purchase team trading cards for $5 at: http://spofit.org/ Powerchair users should check into 'power soccer' in their area. It's a sport that has grown rapidly and most major cities now have teams. A guard is attached to the front of your powerchair and you use your chair to push, block or kick the ball. Before each match the powerchairs are timed for speed so that all fall within a fair range. I've seen amazing players with every imaginable level of physical movement. If you can operate your powerchair, you can play! http://www.powersoccerusa.org/ Here's one Website that has coverage of theParalympic games: http://paralympics.channel4.com/
