Hi,
I've had my pouch since 1999 and I have around 9 stones the size of marbles.
My procedure will be invasive as the Dr. has to make about an inch incision
and will literally pull them out...I have had kidney stones removed recently
also but this procedure scares me because the Dr. is cutting into the pouch! I
will be in the hospital one to two days.

Subject: Stones removed from a pouch

Hi,

I have a Kock Pouch ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kock_pouch or
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Kock+pouch ). I've had it
since 1987. I had a Calcium Oxalate stone a few years ago. The doc used
Flomax to help the stone pass and after I was discharged they set up a
procedure to remove the stone from my pouch. It was a fairly uninvasive,
outpatient procedure. They gave me something IV to sleep and when I woke up it
was done. I felt great in Recovery and "blew that pop stand" about an hour
later. I have had no problems since!
