Regarding computer files: the number one tip, which I have found helpful is to run my applications (Google chrome or Microsoft Outlook or WordPad) in a window on the left side of my screen, and to run Dragon pad in a small window on the right side of my screen. This allows me to easily make notes of things like telephone numbers or website addresses or e-mail addresses, to easily cut and paste between various applications, and to make notes on a topic from a variety of sources.
I've also found it very helpful to use Google to search for PDF files. A typical Google search might be "allintitle: term1 term2 filetype:pdf”. This allows me to allocate a couple hours for searching for information, downloading it to a issue related subdirectory on my hard drive. In a similar way, I can search blogs and websites, and save the contents as PDF files in issue related subdirectories. If anyone would like specific instructions on how to do these things, please e-mail me directly. Also, I am very interested in this same topic. What tips and tricks do you use to be more productive and efficient with your computer?
