Bring a few pens he knows he can use, a water bottle and any meds he might need. A backpack or over the shoulder bag for whatever. After my first week or month (I forget it was over 35 years ago) my Mom made a special celebratory dinner. I , personally, was proud of myself for feeling "normal" that I wanted to shout it to everybody, the dinner made me feel they, my family, saw that in me and were also proud of me. If you can't or don't want to do a dinner then you could go out together or buy him something he needs at work that he didn't count on. This is a VERY large step and I for one am very proud of him for getting this job, their awful hard to come by these days. Bobbie 39 yeas post C-4,5,6,7
