I think the prep depends on your doctor's preference.  Just sayin'.

That's the way the procedure used to be performed down here in Tampa back in
1998. Now, however, you go in and on the first night they gave you the mag
citrate (although I have had some doctors hold this). The second day you drink
the gallon solution of Golightly (spelling) and on the third day you drink one
more gallon of Golightly. The fourth day is the day you do the procedure and
you go home on the fifth day. I have been told by doctors that you can go into
A.D. because of the gas, so they keep you around to make sure nothing happens.

I just had a surgery in May to put in a urostomy and it required me to clear my
bowels because they were going to use a portion of my intestine. It was that
bad and even a little worse. I would've asked them to do the colonoscopy, but
they had just done one the year before.

Take care of yourself,

In '99 I had a colonoscopy. 1st day I drink a bottle of "Magnesium Citrate",
and waited for a bowel movement. After that I performed digital stimulation to
empty out the
rest. 2nd day I saw my Dr. and he checked me into the hospital under
emergency situation (That's the only way Medicare will pay). There I
drink a gallon of solution to cleanse my bowels. The 3rd day that
morning he performed a colonoscopy and endoscope. Went home after I
slept off the sedative medication received before my procedure.
