When you pull the existing motor out of the door and cross reference the number
to find out what model to buy......there is no mystery about it. You are
correct
there is a left side and a ride side motor but thats easy to see the
difference.
Ive used this method over 10 yrs without issue. Anybody with basic hand tool
knowledge can get this done. I did buy one rebuilt motor from the vendor for
300 because I was in a pinch, its no different, no miracle motor. The chinese
versions of the delco are pretty much junk although they work. The good news if
you buy from a auto parts store is you will get a warranty and probally get a
free motor. If your rich just pay somebody. This is just for low budget quads
that have a brother or uncle that is handy.

be careful of statements and claims like this. yes, mfr's used the old delco
power window motor but when gm phased out delco the lift mfr's started to use
other suppliers. the reason for the delco motor was good torque, low voltage
draw. the kicker was finding the correct delco motor as they were available in
left hand and right hand orientation. the newer motors aren't interchangeable
with older motors and in some instances the secondary supplier delco motor
might
be too thick to fit so just be cautious.  the industry lived and died with that
motor-when gm did what they did the mfr's had to change. remember if you change
something you open yourself to shorting the lift out and having some potential
for some real trouble. just a word to the wise. good luck
tom

I just wanted to let people know on the list that the expensive motors they
charge you 3-500 bucks to replace in either the duals side doors, single
sliding, or transfer seat is nothing but a power window motor that can be
bought
on ebay or the auto parts store. You just pull the motor out and there is a
numbered sticker on it. You cross reference that number to the vehicle it was
made for andbuy the motor. Just bought an ac-delco motor for 28 dollars shipped
and it works perfect in my 07 Chevy Express power barn door. The only thing you
have to do is the three holes that mount the motor need to be tapped to allow
you to use screws to mount instead of rivets. This method worked in my 84 ford,
2000 Safari and 07 Express. Im not sure about the new dodge vans, ive never
seen
them apart and the power doors on those vans are factory. Hope this can help
someone that cant afford the price of a 500 motor
