It simply kills me to hear of another young person becoming a quad. A local high school baseball team is in Florida to play in a tournament. Yesterday the team went to the beach during free time. One of the young men, Travis Gaines, dived into the surf and hit a sandbar. Serious injury and instant paralysis. The accident is almost identical to mine back in 1971. He has already had emergency surgery and is critical condition. He attends Lexington Dunbar high school in Lexington KY, just a stone's throw from me. You can google for the full story.
