It is heartbreaking! A young man here in OK fell during a pep assembly and broke his neck. He is an avid angler and my brother knows them through the fishing club he is in. The young man regained movement quickly and appears he will make a full recovery. He is one of the fortunate ones. Prayers for Travis and his family.

A local high school baseball team is in Florida to play in a tournament. Yesterday the team went to the beach during free time. One of the young men, Travis Gaines, dived into the surf and hit a sandbar. Serious injury and instant paralysis. The accident is almost identical to mine back in 1971. He has already had emergency surgery and is critical condition. He attends Lexington Dunbar high school in Lexington KY, just a stone's throw from me. You can google for the full story.
