I have been using an indwelling catheter for 16 years they want to to do a SP. Is there any reason I should not have it done. I know you had a SP and changed, can I ask why.

It's like a colostomy for the bladder. Basically you urinate into a small bag which can then be hooked up to a bed bag. > > Hopeless answer your question. > > > On Wed, May 1, 2013 at 10:51 AM, Cullen <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Quadius >> >> Is this the same as a supra pubic? >> >> Cullen >> >> On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Quadius <[email protected]> wrote: >> > I haven't been able to respond much lately due to some problems that I will hopefully be able to rectify tomorrow. >> > >> > Anyway, I face this problem last year and ultimately decided to do the surgery and have a urostomy performed. In fact, I'm having some problems right now, but I don't think it's related to the surgery (it's been 12 months since my surgery). If the time comes, make sure you get a really good surgeon. >> > >> > Also you might want to try to go to a center that does the procedure using robotics. They did the old-fashioned method on me and trying to recover from the incision was one of the worst parts. Although, I think a lot of the problem on having with my bladder currently is because I went too long without having the surgery done. They wanted me to have it done a couple of years ago and I balked at the idea. >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > On Sun, Feb 24, 2013 at 2:54 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> >> >> My question is for those that have used a Foley catheter for many years. >> >> >> >> I am 46 years post SCI and have used a catheter since day one.
