Hi Don, I have had Sure Hands w/ HandiMove lift for about 14 of my 15 years as a quad, and it has been nothing short of fantastic! I'm a c5/c6 quad, and at 6'5" 240lbs it's the only way for me to xfer myself w/o help to/from bed, or between chairs. Aside from my power chair and adapted van, it is essential to my living as independently as I can.
It has been great maintenance-wise, too. I've only had to replace the battery twice in that time. It was expensive (sorry, don't remember exactly, but maybe $500, including the service visit). The one thing I would point out is that you might need high ceilings. My legs are long, so my feet just clear the foot of the bed. My ceilings are in an old house (1860), so higher than many (9 foot, I think). Anyway, I give the lift two thumbs-up and five stars, out of five. It's worth the expense, because the freedom it provides is priceless. >________________________________ > From: Don Price <[email protected]> >To: quadlist <[email protected]> >Sent: Friday, July 5, 2013 6:36 PM >Subject: [QUAD-L] Sure Hands > > > >Does anyone here have the Sure Hands ceiling mounted track lift system? > > >I know they're not cheap, but I tested one out and was able to transfer myself >independently for the first time in my life.
