Seat pan may be adjustable or replaced with a different size. Much
depends on the serial number of the chair and how it was assembled at Pride
before it was delivered to your provider.
Mark Smith-Edge Quantum Manager and Edge Owner can verify this information
if you provide your serial number to him at: [email protected]_

Do you have a seat pan for a cushion or do you have a preformed seat with
back?

W,
I'm not talking about "stretching" my seat if it's not wide enough. I'm
talking about sending it back to be redone IF needed.

No, I know of no seat stretcher in the market place. The seat is usually
measured by its wooden base or platform. I'm guessing you have a air or
gel cushion that is placed on the platform.

PT's and OT's have different educations and certifications OT's are not
allow to perform physical therapy and PT's generally stick to moving arms
and legs plus neuro practice. Ask you PT if I'm wrong or right.... or write.

W,
It just happens that Kessler has 2 PT's that are in charge of their
wheelchair clinic ... That is their primary job.
What about the seat width I was talking about? Can it be widened if
needed?

Slime is a green gel with pepper-like parts. Just make sure that the
valve isn't sealed to allow more air if necessary. The Edge was design for
flat dry surfaces, not grass, stones and soft surfaces. The edge does have
adjustable suspension.
Why are you using a Physical Therapist, rather than an Occupational
Therapist? PT works with muscle and nerves, Occupational Therapist works with
daily living devices like wheelchairs.

Hi All,
When I go to Kessler the 18th and get my new Quantum Edge.
1. I got air in the tires, first time since 1977 My supplier said he was
going to treat my air tire's with "slime" which is Supposed to prevent flats
.... how can I tell if the "slime" has been applied?
2. OK, now I'm going to take this new chair out for a spin on different
Terrains, uneven surfaces and back-up onto my platform lift on my van. What
if the traction is bad, really bad or won't get me into my lift or just
makes it? Can the traction be adjusted or Tweaked?
3. The chair I have now is ridiculously wide, so I ordered my seat and
cushion to be 2" narrower. How much wider should a cushion be than our own
bodies? What if the seat & cushion is just to narrow? Can I have the chair
sent back just for that? I realize that is a HUGH reason but will insurance
pay for those kind of changes?
My seating Specialist from my supplier, Wilpage, and a PT spent about 6-7
HOURS measuring me, asking questions, testing different chairs (regarding
center wheel, rear & front wheel drives) I had already test drove different
chairs manufactures in my own home for 2 weeks a clip. they also asked
questions like how and where I will be using my new chair.
Any help on the above matters will be greatly appreciated. Bobbie
