Try calling around to all your local chair repair stores. A lot of them have
parts in stock or old, broken chairs in back that they can part out, much like
junkyards do with cars.

If this is the Greg in AZ, call AZ Lifts 4 Less at 480-615-6466. I bet they can
help you.

Don.

Subject: [QUAD-L] chair part no longer made

I was going up a small ramp in my house and I heard this pop of metal breaking.
This four-inch long spring falls to the ground. One of the ends is broken. I
have an Invacare TDX – 5 and I called the repair shop and explain the spring to
them. I was hoping they could just mail it to me and I could have someone put
it on for me. I explained where the spring goes and sent them photos. She calls
back and tells me Invacare no longer sells that part. To try my luck at Ace
Hardware. That just doesn't seem fair to me that they could stop making parts
when the chairs not that old. Although I know they no longer make this chair,
they should still make parts for years. The spring looks about 4 inches long
and about 1 inch wide. It hooks on the frame just by the mid-wheel and goes
back to the arm that the rear wheel is on. At least that's how it was described
to me. I can't see it from where I'm at. Anyone have an old TDX 5 they use for
parts? Thanks much, Greg
