I'm guessing, but its not uncommon for the bladder to shrink around the SP and rub against the bladder lining. That is why I suggested making contact with your URO Best Wishes In a message dated 12/22/2013 5:47:18 P.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
Incomplete injury. I'm not 100% sure the catheter is the cause, but it started when the supra pubic was put in, been getting progressively worse. Been thinking about going back to the urologist, but it's a long painful trip. My husband is incomplete and has had severe burning 24/7/365 in his bladder ever since he got an indwelling cath in 06. If your injury is complete that may be why you don't feel the pain but do have AD...and that vid would make since. Have you had your bladder scoped? When I had my supra pupic put in about a year ago a size 20 French was used. Ever since, I've been experiencing pretty bad dysreflexia. Looking into a different kind of catheter called a "duette." Unfortunately, I think the smallest size they come in is 18 French. Here's a video that makes me think the catheter is causing the dysreflexia, and why a duette might help. http://youtu.be/2dB2RnUI64g
