I can relate, I'm back and forth turning on my electric blanket and then 
turning on my overhead fan. I would be miserable without both. My dog doesn't 
know what to think. Seems to be effective though.

My issue is not being too cold, but overheated, my arms just think they are 
freezing. Like shivering cold, but once I uncover my arms, I feel better. So I 
swear I am freezing, I'd bet everything I am, it feels so cold. But once I 
uncover my arms I'm ok. 
But... If I start with my arms uncovered I really feel cold, until I cover up 
for a few hours. So no matter what, I shiver cold. 
I've tried fleece hats, but thy only helped in cold Seattle. I never had this 
issue in seattle, only Phx.
