I recently had two minor surgical procedures. Both times I told the doctor
and the anesthesiologist that I was worried about developing dysreflexia.
Both times they assured me that it wouldn't be a problem, that they knew
how to deal with it. Both times when I woke up from the surgery, my blood
pressure was fine, no dysreflexia symptoms. However, not long after I was
released, the anesthesia wore off and the dysreflexia kicked in.
