Hi Ronald and all, It is extremely important to discuss all meds with your physician and pharmacist--especially the pharmacist, he/she is good at figuring out possible contraindications--for instance I'm on blood thinners (warfarin)--if I need to take Cipro or Levaquin I go in right away for an INR (test to see how thin the blood is) test because both drugs make warfarin stay in the system more.
As for Baclofen, I'm on 120mgs a day (max is *supposed* to be 80mg, but both my Dr. and Pharmacist know I'm over the limit and are fine with this--I've been on this dose for over a decade and need this much or I will have serious spasms. I also *sometimes* need to take Oxycodone (the fast release version of Oxycontin) but I keep it down to no more than15mg a day--one 5-mg tablet every 4 hours as needed. Bottom line for me is, anytime I am not sure I ask my pharmacist and or physician--they answer my questions right away and I get "the real deal". My pharmacist and Dr. (I use my primary care Dr. for most of this) are also good at helping me screen medications for gluten, I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease (an auto-immune disease where your body attacks the lining of the small intestine when minuscule amounts of gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley, or rye). I react if I get as little as 100parts per million. It is nasty stuff and I *suspect* my Celiac Disease was caused by years of taking antibiotics--which killed off the good bacteria in my small intestine.
