I had had to spend Christmas in Santa Clara rehab and when I came home in February I was thrilled to see that they had left the Christmas lights up on my house and around the barn as well as a Christmas tree on top of the house. Three days later we had a good snowstorm, about 10 inches, and I was downstairs when my husband came and said you have to come upstairs and look at the barn. We didn't have a lift from floor to floor, so he put me in my Manual chair, leaned it back and bumped me up the stairs. When he pushed me over to the window he stopped abruptly, and I just went sliding out onto the floor. He called to my daughter to come and help him, she came and looked around, slid me over to my overhead lift and said there you go Dad and went back to bed. However, it was well worth everything because all of the light bulbs on the tree were covered with snow and it looked magical, with the colored lights reflecting off of the roof. It was a great homecoming. Joan

The smells of MANY different things is what I remember most, instead of antiseptic cleaning Solutions. Next thing was the narrow doorways, unlike those in hospitals and rehab. Next was the phone. When I was injured in 1973 we still had rotary phones, I learned in rehab how to dial a rotary phone. Bobbie Smile Everyday
