I guess you could then take those measurements to a machine shop and have  
them proto-type a replacement for you.  After all of that... it might just  
work... and maybe it won't.  Then what will you do.

Could be as simple as a motor change or adjustment, worn chain or  cable 
but if you take it to the thieves any way you look at it will prob  cost ya a 
1000.00. Depends on if you have been to the van place(thieves) in  awhile.

Well  guys, I finally got my lift to working, now another problem. I have a 
 sliding door (unfortunately). The drive gear (cog) is apparently worn out. 
 It will barely open, jumps and grabs, and sounds like a machine gun. It  
closes very smoothly though. Who, where, and how should I go about  replacing
