Hi Ron,

Bummer about the insurance.  I wonder if there is some work around???  The 
other option would be to see if the Dr. Barth Green at the University of 
Miami (Miami Project) accepts your insurance.  The irony is--at the last time I 
checked the hospital accepted Medicare and/or Medicaid.

I've spoken to several people that have had the syrinx detethering done.  They 
said it isn't fun--to do it right and safely, following surgery you have to be 
flat
on your back for days.  It has something to do with stitching up the dura on 
the spinal cord--a friend that had the procedure done said Dr. Falci said it is 
very fragile and likens it to trying to stitch two pieces of wet toilet paper 
together--hence needing to be motionless while the dura heals together.  At 
least that is what I heard.

work with your insurance.
