Larry my 1st chair was also like the one you described but I got mine in 1976 It came in one size fits all, one color (maybe 2) With a sling seat and back. Made a high pitch sound whenever I was in motion and would interfere with radio and TV signals. Very UGLY! But got me where I wanted to go. Before that I had to push. Bobbie
