How does anyone get approval for home health aid care? My husband is a totally
dependent quadriplegic and his insurance does not cover any home health. The
only way we can get it in Arizona is if he is eligible for AHCCS which we are
not because our income exceeds the minimum and same with Medi-cal in
California. Does anyone know a way to get paid home health if you are not on
state insurance?

What are you all referring to in this thread? I'm reading that you all are
being evaluated and are getting hours. What are the hours for that your
talking about?

We do the same thing, but you guys can get more hours than we can. I get 28
hours a week which is maximum! Thank goodness for my great family and friends.

Yeah, every year. This year they gave me 36.5 hours per week. I asked the
caseworker where the 0.5 hours come from, she told me it's determined by some
kind of computer algorithm.

I had one of those days when a representative came out (once a year) to
reevaluate me to SEE if I'm still a quad.
Answering all their questions, for me, REALLY brings it home for me.
I couldn't stop crying once the nurse left.
But I'm reinstated there going to let me keep my 40 hours per week and my
chair, hoyer and bed.

Anybody else have to go through this periodically? Bobbie
