Funny you should mention this.  A couple months ago I got a new set of batteries in my chair and I told the tech from National Seating and Mobility (my DME) that the batteries he put in my chair were crap compared to the batteries that came with the chair.  He told me Medicaid no longer pays for MK batteries.  He said the batteries he put in my chair were Interstate batteries which Medicaid says are just as good but I'm not the only one that's complained.  Granted, I'm hard on my batteries because I go for a couple mile roll every day.  All I know is these Interstate batteries are not as good as the MK's my chair came with.

Last week on Monday and Tuesday morning my house smelled like sewer gas/sulpher/rotten eggs. Called a plumber and he couldn’t find anything but while chatting and looking around he asked what kind of batteries I had in my chair.

I decided not to charge my chair Tuesday night and Wednesday morning there was no smell. Called wheelchair company and told them my scenario and they suggested using spray air to clean out the charger. We did that, nothing really came out and plugged charger in Wednesday night. No smell until this morning. Anyone else have similar issue and was it your batteries, the charger or both?

I was outside yesterday and my chair has shown full battery bars every day, however,  my chair wouldn’t move and looked at joystick screen and it says low battery. Chair did not charge last night and obviously hasn’t charged for at least a week.

Wheelchair vendor can’t come out until Monday to assess the chair, then order batteries etc, will have to schedule another day to install once they come in……………they don’t do emergency calls.

Spent $340.76 out of pocket for new batteries………..should I be looking for a new wheelchair dme company or is this just the way it is? I just can’t believe they couldn’t loan me batteries to get me through the weekend, nor would they sell me any.
