Hi BeeJ, For what it’s worth, I’ve written about this subject and know many people with SCI that have broken leg bones. You do NOT want a hard cast. The best option is to get a soft cast or if the fracture needs more stability a custom orthotic cast that splits in half, is well-padded and you can take apart (held together with velcro) so you can do skin checks.
