You did not mention if your C4 Friend was male or female and if they were in a
spinal rehab unit after what caused this to happen. Bowel and Bladder
Management is considered normal with any spinal cord injury to keep a post
injury body healthy. Bladder management can be controlled with an indwelling
or Texas catheter, for males. With females, its usually indwelling catheter.
If that is the method chosen, then make sure as a caregiver that you are
properly instructed on how it works and learn how to make corrections and how
to change one in the event that the discharge tube becomes blocked. Bowel
control, can be normally controlled or managed using a daily program, using a
number of trial n errors with chemistry in pill, tablet or
suppositories/amuels. A Rehab Nurse would be your best source for additional
