Macintosh printer cables are not wired "straight-through", but are in fact
crossover cables. Hence, if used through a switchbox, the feed cable and
any of the output cables together would negate the crossover. I also had
to find a straight-through cable to use my switchbox with two printers.
Of course, this assumes that the switchbox is wired in a "straight-through"
configuration, and in my experience, most are.
